Sonoma Valley Regional Park

You can take your dog anywhere with you on a leash, except in parks that prohibit pets. Most state and county parks allow pets, but not the parks within the Sonoma city limits including the central Sonoma Plaza.

The Valley has two dog parks with secure fenced areas where dogs can run free, exercise, and play with other dogs. One is in Sonoma Valley Regional Park near Glen Ellen, and other is in the town of Sonoma next to the Sonoma Police Department on the north side:

Sonoma Valley Regional Park
13630 Sonoma Highway (Hwy 12). Glen Ellen

The Elizabeth Perrone Dog Park, a one-acre, fully fenced dog park, was developed and built with donations and funds raised by the Foundation. The dog park is a popular place to exercise dogs off-leash in one of Sonoma County's largest dog parks.

Additional fundraisers and donations have enhanced the dog park with a drinking fountain for dogs, a gazebo for shade for people and pets, pathways, and additional trees for shade.

Directions from the Sonoma Plaza: Travel time: 15 minutes

From the south side of the Plaza, take Highway 12 west (West Napa Street). Pass Verano Avenue and continue on Highway 12 for approximately 7 miles. Sonoma Valley Regional Park is on the left next to the fire station.

Sonoma Police Department
175 First Street West. Sonoma

Next to the Sonoma Police Station near the Sonoma Plaza is a fenced dog park for off leash dogs to play. Water is available.

Directions from the Sonoma Plaza: Travel time: 3 minutes
From the west side of the Plaza, take First Street West northward to the Sonoma Police station. The dog park is on the right side of the parking lot facing the street.
